  • T20 Summary Hello team,Our T20 tournament ended just the way it started. Wet and washed out. That being said, I am extremely proud of our performances in this tournament. Few key highlightsScores of greater than 175 in ever game we have played. I have never seen such consistent batting performance in my time in WGCC! Total of 2 centuries and 3 fifties in 3 games! Senior players raising their hands up and performing to compensate key losses such as Biv and Vijay due to injuries. Mayur, Dipen, Damu, Prashant and Amar - you guys made my job easy. Players such as Anup and Sarvar stepping up to the plate - showcasing their abilities to perform in the big gamesOur 'remote' players ...

  • Captain's report - T20 Match 6 vs KECC Team,I am sure we are still hurting from today's loss. I'll keep the report short and list out a few positives and areas to improve that we need to work on in up coming games. Our batting once again clicked. This time Faraz came back into the playing to hit a stupendous unbeaten 126* - the highest ever by a WGCCian. Well done Faraz bhai. Ably supported by the rest of the batting line up. Well done and let's continue to build this momentum. Our bowling unfortunately lacked venom. We did not field well either, adding to the misery. The dropped chances will hurt us more in upcoming back. That's 2 consecutive games we have conceded ...

  • Captain's report - T20 Match 5 vs CL It was a beautiful day for cricket and we were pretty excited to confirm our spot in the playoffs by beating CL. As some of you might be aware, we lost against this team last year after scoring 187. While they may not be a strong team on paper, in Prashant Shinde, they have one of the best batsman in the league. CL had a double header on Sunday, and came into our game at the back of a crushing loss. There was no doubt that they would want to make amends against us. Luckily we won the toss and elected to bat first. Mayur walked in with a new opening partner in Prady and the 2 of them started ...

  • Captain's Report - T20 Match 3 vs TLCC After the washed out double header last weekend, I was excited to get on the field and register our first victory of the season. Playing against TLCC who had lost some of their key players, it was important for us to not be complacent. Losing the toss (that's 2 in a row now), TLCC put us in to bat on a damp pitch and a wet outfield. We lost Dipen early to a suicidal run. Mayur followed soon thereafter. What followed next was an exhibition of how to pace an innings. Vicky continued from where he left off last weekend with his usual flamboyance. While Aditya was getting his eye in. scoring was on at around 6-7 an ...

  • T35 WGCC vs CDCC May 14th, 2017 at Tanglewood Park On a bright sunny day at Tanglewood Park, WGCC took on the T20 finalist CDCC in the second game of the season after starting out with a disappointing performance in game 1. WGCC was put into bat by CDCC on the field that was not ideal for ground scoring shots due to thick grass. Aware of new pitch mat and thick grass, Dipen and Amar started the innings cautiously, leaving few deliveries to negotiate the swing and determining how the surface was playing. Dipen was able to score few boundaries to break the shackles a bit while Amar on the other end was getting his eye in. Both batsmen settled in but soon lost their wickets in quick succession. Mayur ...
